VIDEO: What Is Cobrowsing?

There's a lot of buzz about cobrowsing at the moment- but here's a question: what actually is it?

In this video, we go back to basics. We start off with a definition, explain how cobrowsing works and why it can be used to better serve your customers, boosting sales and conversions on your website.

Everyone talks about cobrowsing and its multiple benefits, but what actually is it?
In this week’s episode, we’re going back to basics:

What Is Cobrowsing?

Cobrowsing is a website feature which allows agents to share the customers screen, annotate areas on the page, fill out forms, push pages and even temporarily take control of the web session at the click of a button.

Cobrowsing leverages webrtc technology to accurately render what the customer is looking at in real time. This allows the agent to better understand and solve problems, and advise on complex products to assist the buyer in making the right choice for them.

What this helps to achieve is a more interactive, virtual ‘in-store’ experience for the buyer. This offers a fantastic customer experience and ultimately, leads to increased website conversions.

Cobrowsing works as stand-alone solution, or as part of Talkative’s Web Calling and Web Chat solutions.

Is cobrowsing secure?

Security is one of the most important considerations for your customers, and it should be for you too. Thankfully, there’s nothing to worry about when it comes to cobrowsing.

There are air-tight boundaries which limit the agents view. Agents are only able to see the customer’s view of the website. They cannot see any other tabs, windows, files or the customer’s desktop. It’s also important to note that when customers are filling out sensitive data fields, these fields are redacted completely.

Is it easy to implement?

Here’s the best part- setting up cobrowsing couldn’t be easier! Cobrowsing doesn’t require any additional plug ins or downloads. All it takes is 3 lines of code. It also works on all browsers and devices, including desktop, tablet and mobile.
And one final thing to say? The user interface is completely customisable so it can match your website branding.
